Christopher,
a Christian, has been shooting professionally since
1988. Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Christopher
shoots projects for local clients.
“I was in the sixth grade when I realized that
photography would be a part of my life forever. I remember
the day in astronomy class when I was talking too much
during the teacher's instruction. Needless to say, he
was a little peeved that I was interrupting his class
--- and he disciplined me by placing me in this really
strange room. It was dark, but it had this red light
that somewhat interested me. After class, my teacher
came into the strange room to scold me about my talking…
but instead I interrupted him to ask what kind of room
I was in. He informed me that I was in a "darkroom."
When I asked him what it was for, he walked over to
an enlarger and said, "Watch this!" He then
inserted a film negative of his family’s dog and
turned on the enlarger for a brief second. A light glowed
upon a piece of paper… but nothing dramatic happened
until he dropped that piece of paper into the first
of three chemical solutions. When I saw the image of
a dog appear before my eyes, I was hooked! The thought
that I could capture an image and store it on paper
forever amazed me. In High School, I became the photographer
for the newspaper and the yearbook. During my senior
year, I met a local photographer who taught me about
studio lighting. I then met a commercial photographer
in a nearby town who mentored me in photography as a
living. “Leonard Wayne, wherever you are, you
were an inspiration." Additiionally, I owe my growth
to photographers that I have assisted throughout the
country. My relationship with Lord helps me daily in
the stupid mistakes I make. In
short, Christopher sums up his thoughts in this:
"Photography has been a gift from God that
blesses me, and that I hope will always bless others."
